Shine Shine Stand Tall Fool Dishing out a little of the bliss malish Bent over snapped lightning under blitz the system Tearing out those sorry drops compassion fool Feed a little terror to the heart, still warm in memorium But careless is the hold, the fucker has been sold Serenity midnight’s unseen hand come ploughing down silent, Planted steel, gospel deep Big emotions in a small-minded world This is the system, oh fuck the system This is where I leave you all behind, The aim of your hearts having proved unsound Let it rain razor shine Let it rain on it Let the cold rain in on it Poured razor shine words on it ’til it clean and smiled, Like a bastard child I need a stronger animal than the promise of Christ Shine empty resolution, the white of your eyes Give me the clean logic rush of an animal strike Fired up on the blackest wings of negation Trashed to high heaven but I’m in celebration for the cynic, And his blood-stained hands Running into empty rooms for the sake of negation I’ve got a choice and I’m willing to lose for the sake of negation Angel Fuse Let it rain on it Let the cold rain in on it Poured razor shine words on it ’til it clean and smiled, Like a bastard child O Get Real Fool You’re dishing out a little of the bliss malish Bent over snapped lightning under blitz the system Tearing out those sorry drops compassion fool Feed a little terror to the heart, still warm in memorium But careless is the hold, the fucker has been sold Serenity midnight’s unseen hand come ploughing down silent Planted steel, gospel deep Big emotions in a small-minded world This is the system, oh fuck the system This is where I leave you all behind, the aim of your hearts having proved unsound Let it rain

Dirty motor-driven swinging cold-eyed meat Swinging swinging Swinging Ripened ugly, ripened sick Ripened dirty motor-driven swinging cold-eyed meat Dead dreams bloom, and fall from your mouth Like dead-bird stones from the arms of the sky Rattle like a storm tree Rattle like a bug Rattle like a live wire, live wire May they crawl down your throat Bust your lungs out of hope Creeping down on your street Snaking eyes on the wire Turning steel on your law From your mouth while you sleep Dead dreams fevered of pitch Dead dreams bloom, Dead dreams bloom while you sleep Dead dreams bloom while you sleep Ripened ugly, ripened sick Ripened dirty motor-driven swinging cold-eyed meat Live, live wire I’ll rip out my guts for you Cold faced and empty moon I’ve showed them colours through I’ve squeezed out all my yearning I’ve made your mothers sick I’ve squeezed out all my yearning I’ve made your lovers sick I’ve squeezed out all my yearning I’ve squeezed out all my yearning I’ve squeezed out all my yearning

Here it comes Here it comes God’s Wolfpack God’s Wolfpack God’s Wolfpack BlackGuard Wolfpack Stench of God on summer breeze Heard his swarm of dirty mongrels breath Heard a Swan-Song promise Still-night cowering dread Feeling out flimsy front-house doors and fate’s fodder And warm dreams baring their necks and going cold I heard mortality discussed in the trees Jesus led them through the sun-dead leaves To my door Here it comes Here it comes Here it comes I heard mortality discussed in the trees Jesus led them through the sun-dead leaves To my door Here it comes Here it comes Here it comes Here it comes Here it comes God’s Wolfpack Here it comes God’s Wolfpack

Cold Star 04:42
There’s a message from 'above' But fear would have us void its hearing Through the agency of stars Death would walk amongst the living On the streets the rebels preen and cower While the Watcher’s Eye it turns Still wrapped up in all our dreaming The ‘Children of the Sun’ will burn Burn, In the name of ‘love’

about

Lightarmour Editions - LE | 006

Second release in the Fate Razor Retrospective Series, Retrospective EP#2 collects a further 5 tracks produced between 1993 and 1998, including the prototype song that initiated the project - Angelignite; a metallic angst anthem, and predecessor to ColdComfort Logic.

Angelignite, Dead Dreams Bloom, and BlackGuard Wolfpack were previously released on obscure compilation albums during the project's Melbourne era and summarise accurately the sound and headspace of that period. An account of the prophetic nightmare/dream that inspired BlackGuard can be found in a recent interview - see the AustralianGothicIndustrial link in the sidebar.

The 'Dub Reconstruction' version of BlackGuard Wolfpack (previously unavailable) was crafted by Fanc Tetaz and originally intended for the debut Fate Razor album which was in production at the time but never finalised; its an alternate bare-bones stripdown of the mutant industrial hip-hop of the original.

The original version of "Cold Star" was written in Perth in 1998 and intended for release on a compilation of electronic artists by Perth label Divination Records.

Like the first EP, the songs of Retrospective EP#2 were sequenced on an Atari 1040STE, triggering Roland JV880 and Juno 106 synths, and a collection of Akai samplers (and lots of floppy discs). Cold Star was written on the Atari 1040STE and Ensoniq ASR-10 sampler workstation.

A re-issue of Angelignite and BlackGuard Wolfpack has been in request for many years now, hopefully the cleaned-up and remastered versions on Retrospective EP#2 deliver.

Fate Razor is the long-running side project of Vince Valentini - producer, and one half of Crimson Boy. Its the Mr Hyde of CB's Dr Jekyll - a harsher, darker twin soul fastened to a dense propulsive sound that melds industrial noise, dub, electronica, and bastardised Hip-hop. After a hiatus of over a decade, two EP's of songs sourced from '93 onwards are been released in prep for new material. ... more
